It's a cheap-jack version! (Probably just a copy from the original mould, as these things often are!)

I remember on the set the crabs were kept in fridge for some reason. I think the plastic for the jewels could go off, a bit like toffee glass can.

No no, it was cos the flesh would go spoilt otherwise. Basic chef thingy.
